Throughout the past couple weeks, we have continued to build on our stunting ability. We mastered the 2-2-1 pyramid and the flatback pyramid. We moved on to the Swedish Falls pyramid. This pyramid is almost perfected. We have thrown it at one game so far. The other pyramids we are working on are a split pyramid and an A frame. We will be practicing these in the coming weeks, and hopefully have one ready for the last home football game this Saturday. The team is sad for our last game, yet I feel like we have had a good time leading the crowd as our team has done so well. Starting at the end of November, we will begin to practice for the competition routine we will be performing in the month of February. This will be the first time in 2 years that the MNU cheerleaders will compete. It would be beneficial for our squad to have a few more male Yell Leaders join to boost our squad’s potential for harder stunts. However, we are excited to get started and see how the competition comes together.

Cheerleading for the football games has been a fun and interesting experience. With all the sicknesses and injuries, we have not had our full squad very often.

I am proud of our squad for being flexible and working with groups that they haven’t worked with before. Our practices have been very successful so far this year. At our most recent practice, we hit a new stunt called a Tic-Toc. These stunts are not perfected yet, but we are excited to have new stunts to work with. We are still working on the new pyramid we learned and adding on to it.

The football season is off to a great start. After cheering our second football game of the season, we are excited to see how the rest of the year goes. The crowd at Baker last weekend was fairly large for an away game.

We have 6 new additions to the cheer squad this year, all of which have a great contribution to our team. We are accomplishing a lot at our practices, including a new pyramid we learned at camp. Also, we are getting some of the new girls to do tricks in the basket tosses. We love doing these stunts but they are illegal to do unless we are on grass or a mat. This makes it difficult for us to show off our talent at the football games.
